India’s solar landscape just got a fresh jolt of capital, with ACME Solar securing $164.0M in new funding. The investment comes from India Infrastructure Finance Company (IIFCL), a state-backed lender known for backing long-gestation infrastructure projects.
ACME Solar, helmed by founder Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, is already the country’s largest developer in the Solar PV vertical. The company leans on proprietary in-house operations and maintenance tech to squeeze maximum output from its plants-a pitch that clearly resonated with IIFCL as it doubles down on renewable energy infrastructure. The fresh capital arrives at a time when India’s solar push is accelerating, though ACME’s specific plans for the funds remain under wraps.
