An AI-native steel fabrication company aiming to rebuild America's heavy manufacturing, 1872 has secured $15.0M in Seed funding. The capital infusion, led by The O.H.I.O. Fund, will fuel the development of its fully automated, lights-out factories designed to produce finished steel components directly from CAD to completed parts.
Founded by SpaceX alumni, 1872 applies first-principles thinking to remove supply chain bottlenecks limiting America’s infrastructure. Its prototype factory in Cincinnati, Ohio, will serve as the proving ground for a new model of fast, scalable, and software-native steel manufacturing.
