VayKLife has acquired Xplorie for an undisclosed amount, combining two companies with a shared history in the vacation rental sector. The deal brings together VayKLife’s guest-ready equipment offerings with Xplorie’s experience-based activity programs, creating a broader service platform for lodging brands.

VayKLife supplies vacation rental properties with gear such as bikes, beach chairs, and paddleboards, aiming to enhance the physical comfort and convenience of a stay. Xplorie, founded in 1996, has spent three decades helping lodging providers bundle free local activities with reservations. Its programs are designed to influence traveler decisions early in the booking process, positioning destinations based on experiences rather than accommodations alone. Xplorie currently serves more than 170 lodging partners, representing over 24,000 rental units across 70 destinations.

The acquisition is strategic for both sides. VayKLife gains access to Xplorie’s established network of lodging partners and its proven model for driving bookings through activity incentives. Xplorie, in turn, can leverage VayKLife’s physical product logistics to offer a more complete package that extends beyond the stay itself. The combined entity will allow vacation rental brands to differentiate themselves by providing both tangible amenities and experiential value, potentially increasing occupancy and homeowner appeal without relying on price competition.

The two companies bring complementary strengths to the table. VayKLife’s operational focus on gear delivery and maintenance pairs naturally with Xplorie’s marketing-driven activity programs, which have historically served as a competitive tool rather than a simple upsell. By aligning these offerings, the merged business aims to help partners stand out earlier in the traveler’s planning process, while also generating demand for local tours and attractions.

With a combined 40 years of industry experience, the newly formed organization is positioned to expand its service scope across existing and new markets. The integration will likely focus on streamlining how activity packages and equipment rentals are bundled into single guest offerings, potentially simplifying operations for property managers. As the vacation rental sector continues to evolve toward experience-led travel, the combined company’s ability to address both the physical and experiential sides of a trip may prove central to its growth.
