ZonPrep has acquired Wizard Industries for an undisclosed amount. The transaction, which has been finalized, brings the manufacturer of specialized detection and woodworking equipment under ZonPrep’s ownership. Wizard Industries will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary, with its product lines integrated into ZonPrep’s existing portfolio.
Wizard Industries is known for a diverse catalog that includes 4x4 post holders and supports, conveyor metal detectors, laser metal detector wands, and instrument detectors. The company also produces security wand metal detectors, bifocal safety glasses, and a range of woodworker tools, alongside its invention manufacturing and injection molding capabilities. ZonPrep, the acquiring firm, is expanding its operational footprint through this purchase, gaining access to Wizard’s established manufacturing processes and its niche customer base in both industrial safety and woodworking sectors.
The strategic rationale for the acquisition centers on product diversification and manufacturing efficiency. By absorbing Wizard Industries, ZonPrep adds a complementary line of inspection and detection equipment to its offerings, which can be cross-sold to existing distribution channels. Furthermore, Wizard’s in-house injection molding and invention manufacturing expertise provides ZonPrep with additional production capacity and potential cost savings through consolidated supply chains. The deal also secures Wizard’s proprietary designs, including its laser wand technology, preventing competitors from acquiring those assets.
For customers of both companies, the ownership change is expected to be seamless in the near term. Wizard’s product warranties and support services will remain in place, and its manufacturing operations are slated to continue at their current site. The combined entity will now manage a broader range of industrial tools, from post supports to high-precision metal detectors, under one corporate umbrella.
The acquisition positions ZonPrep to leverage Wizard’s specialized engineering knowledge to enhance its own product development roadmap. The integration of Wizard’s manufacturing assets is expected to be completed over the coming quarters, with a focus on maintaining supply continuity. The combined company will aim to strengthen its presence in the safety and woodworking equipment markets, building on the distinct strengths of both brands.
