Compagnia del Gusto has acquired Winelivery, the Italian on-demand drinks delivery service, for an undisclosed amount. The deal transfers full ownership of Winelivery to Compagnia del Gusto, which will now oversee its operations and strategic direction.
Winelivery, founded in Milan in 2016, built its business around delivering alcohol, ice, and soft drinks to homes in under 30 minutes. The company manages its own assortments and delivery fleet, maintaining direct relationships with producers to cut out intermediaries. It currently serves more than 60 cities across Italy, with nationwide coverage available within 24 to 48 hours. Compagnia del Gusto, the acquiring entity, operates in the food and beverage sector, focusing on distribution and brand management for quality Italian products.
The acquisition gives Compagnia del Gusto direct access to Winelivery’s established last-mile logistics network and its customer base in urban centers. For Winelivery, the move provides the financial and operational backing of a larger group, which could support expansion beyond its current geographic footprint. The combined entity will pair Compagnia del Gusto’s sourcing and portfolio expertise with Winelivery’s speed-focused delivery model, potentially allowing for a broader range of products to be offered through the same rapid service channel.
No changes to Winelivery’s daily operations or brand identity have been announced. The company will continue to operate under its existing name, with its team expected to remain in place. The transaction is closed, and integration efforts will now begin, focusing on aligning supply chains and logistics systems. The outcome of this integration will determine whether the model can be scaled to additional markets or extended to new product categories in the coming quarters.
