Sansiri PLC has acquired The Lake Como EDITION, a luxury hotel property on the western shore of Lake Como, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers ownership of the hotel and its operations to the Thai real estate developer, which has been expanding its portfolio of high-end hospitality assets across international destinations.
The Lake Como EDITION is a design-led property that overlooks the Bellagio mountains, offering lake-view rooms and suites, indoor and outdoor dining venues, a floating pool, and a full-service spa. The hotel has operated as part of the EDITION brand, known for its contemporary aesthetic and lifestyle-oriented hospitality. Sansiri, a Bangkok-based developer with a track record in residential and mixed-use projects, has increasingly moved into hotel ownership as part of its broader investment strategy.
The acquisition gives Sansiri a foothold in one of Europe’s most sought-after leisure markets, where demand for premium accommodations remains steady. For the property, the change in ownership brings a developer with experience in managing high-value real estate assets, though the hotel will continue to operate under the EDITION brand. The deal aligns with Sansiri’s stated interest in acquiring income-generating properties in prime global locations, adding a hospitality component to its existing development business.
The transaction is expected to close following standard regulatory approvals. Once completed, Sansiri will assume full ownership of the hotel, including its physical assets and operational contracts. The company has not disclosed plans for major renovations or changes to the property’s staffing, suggesting a continuity-focused approach in the near term.
With this purchase, Sansiri adds a distinctive European property to its holdings, complementing its existing investments in Asia and other regions. The Lake Como EDITION will remain a branded hotel, and the new owner’s focus will likely be on maintaining occupancy and service standards while integrating the asset into its broader portfolio. The deal underscores a growing trend of Asian developers acquiring established Western hospitality properties, though the full financial terms remain private.
