Circle has acquired Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments infrastructure company, for an undisclosed amount. The deal brings Tazapay’s platform, which enables businesses to accept payments via cards and over 80 alternative payment methods across 173 countries, under Circle’s corporate umbrella. Tazapay also supports currency holding and conversion across more than 100 currencies, with same-day payouts in over 80 markets.
Tazapay, founded in 2020, serves more than 1,000 enterprises, including fintechs, marketplaces, and platforms in travel, gaming, education, and digital goods. The company is licensed and regulated in several key markets and offers stablecoin on/off ramps for USDC and USDT. Circle, known for issuing USDC, is acquiring Tazapay to expand its reach beyond stablecoin issuance into broader payment processing and settlement infrastructure.
The acquisition is strategic for Circle because it adds a full-stack payment network that operates on modern rails, reducing the need for businesses to manage multiple providers or local entities. Tazapay’s existing client base and regulatory licenses complement Circle’s focus on digital dollar liquidity and global money movement. For Tazapay, joining Circle provides access to deeper capital resources and a larger ecosystem, potentially accelerating its product roadmap and market penetration.
Tazapay’s recent $36 million Series B, led by Circle Ventures with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Peak XV Partners, Ripple, and RTP Global, had already established a financial link between the two firms. This acquisition formalizes that relationship, converting an investment into full ownership. The deal does not include any disclosed changes to Tazapay’s management team or operational base in Singapore.
The combined entity will likely focus on integrating Tazapay’s payment infrastructure with Circle’s stablecoin services, offering businesses a unified route for fiat and digital currency transactions. Regulatory approvals and integration timelines have not been announced, but the transaction is expected to close pending standard conditions. Market observers will watch how Circle leverages Tazapay’s licenses and merchant network to deepen its presence in emerging markets and cross-border commerce.
