QEP has acquired Spray-Lock, according to a LinkedIn post dated September 18, 2026. The post states that the September acquisition expands QEP's platform around spray-applied adhesives designed to reduce application time and simplify installation across LVT, sheet and other flooring categories. The purchase price was not disclosed in the sources.
A source note accompanying the post says Floor Covering News reported on September 9 that QEP acquired Spray-Lock, adding water-based spray adhesive technology positioned around faster application, moisture and pH tolerance, and lower adhesive usage.
The LinkedIn post frames the deal within a broader shift in the North American flooring market, where installation is becoming part of the product specification. It cites an ongoing shortage of qualified installers and recent investment in installation technology. The post argues that flooring programs should be evaluated not only by FOB or material cost but by what it calls the total jobsite equation, including installation speed, subfloor and adhesive requirements, downtime before traffic, ease of plank replacement, and installer availability and complexity.
The post also cites market data: LVT represents 51.5% of U.S. hard-surface flooring sales, and easier-install formats continue to gain attention. The source note attributes that figure to Floor Covering News 2026 resilient statistics, which show LVT reached 51.5% of U.S. hard-surface dollar sales in 2025 and note continued movement toward easier-install formats. The note also says Floor Covering Weekly reported in January that installer shortages remain a major industry issue.
