Vitesse Systems has acquired Spacetime Engineering, a specialist in RF components and antenna feeds for the satellite communication industry, for an undisclosed amount. Established in 2013, Spacetime Engineering brings advanced design, manufacturing, and testing capabilities to the transaction, marking a significant expansion for Vitesse Systems. This corporate acquisition sees Vitesse Systems gaining full ownership of Spacetime Engineering's operations and expertise.
Spacetime Engineering’s core offerings include RF design and analysis, spanning component-level through complex wide- or multi-band feed assemblies and reflector antennas. The company also provides mechanical and manufacturing design and drafting for precision machining, electroforming, metal finishing, and high-volume manufacturing processes. Its in-house capabilities encompass manufacturing, assembly using proprietary methods, and comprehensive RF testing, including S-parameters, high-power (PIM), and patterns. Furthermore, Spacetime Engineering designs, manufactures, and tests custom-engineered solutions for high efficiency and low PIM, covering frequencies from 1 to 140 GHz.
The acquisition is strategically aimed at strengthening Vitesse Systems' position in the high-growth satellite communication market. By integrating Spacetime Engineering’s specialized expertise, Vitesse Systems expects to enhance its capabilities in complex RF systems and expand its portfolio of advanced components and solutions. This move provides Vitesse with robust in-house design, manufacturing, and testing infrastructure, crucial for developing next-generation satellite technologies and meeting stringent industry demands.
Expected synergies include the integration of Spacetime Engineering's proprietary manufacturing and assembly methods, alongside its advanced RF testing facilities, into Vitesse Systems' existing operations. The combined entity is poised to offer a more comprehensive suite of solutions, from initial design to final product delivery and testing, for critical satellite applications. The combined company is set to leverage these enhanced capabilities to drive innovation and deliver high-performance RF solutions across the satellite communication sector.
