ARXIS has acquired Schatz Bearing Corporation for an undisclosed amount. The transaction, completed under terms that were not made public, transfers ownership of the Poughkeepsie, New York-based manufacturer to ARXIS, which will now oversee its operations and strategic direction.
Schatz Bearing Corporation is a ball bearing manufacturer with nearly four decades of experience serving the aerospace and defense, medical, semiconductor, automation and robotics, and general industrial sectors. The company specializes in super precision bearings, including standard and custom engineered airframe control and thin section products. Its capabilities span materials such as 52100, 440C, BG42, CREN, M50, and cobalt, with precision levels from ABEC 1 to ABEC 7 and bearing sizes ranging from .1875 inches to 14 inches in outside diameter. Schatz holds thousands of OEM approvals and is known for offering short lead times on both prototype and production orders.
For ARXIS, the acquisition adds a well-established supplier with deep technical expertise in niche, high-tolerance applications. Schatz’s focus on engineered solutions and flexible production fits with ARXIS’s broader portfolio, which benefits from access to new customer relationships in regulated industries like aerospace and medical devices. The deal gives ARXIS immediate entry into segments where precision and certification matter, reducing the time needed to build such credentials organically.
The combination is expected to preserve Schatz’s operational strengths while leveraging ARXIS’s resources to expand market reach. Schatz’s existing engineering services and rapid turnaround capabilities will remain central to its offering, now supported by a larger corporate structure. No changes to Schatz’s Poughkeepsie location or its current product lines have been announced as part of the transaction.
With ownership now under ARXIS, the merged entity is positioned to pursue growth in the aerospace and automation sectors, where demand for high-precision components continues to rise. The acquisition provides a foundation for broader customer engagement, though specific integration plans and future investments have yet to be detailed.
