RockawayX has acquired Relayer Capital for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the digital asset investment firm’s operations under RockawayX’s umbrella, with Relayer Capital’s team and portfolio activities set to be integrated into the buyer’s existing structure.
Relayer Capital focuses on supporting the builders of the infrastructure, protocols, and applications that will drive mainstream crypto adoption. Its work has centered on early-stage projects that aim to bridge the gap between emerging blockchain technology and practical, large-scale use. RockawayX, active in the crypto and blockchain investment space, will absorb Relayer Capital’s investment activities and network as part of the deal.
The acquisition is strategic for RockawayX in that it expands the firm’s reach into earlier-stage venture opportunities. Relayer Capital’s specialization in foundational technology layers complements RockawayX’s broader portfolio, which spans trading, custody, and venture investments. By folding Relayer Capital into its operations, RockawayX gains access to a curated pipeline of startups and a team with deep technical diligence experience.
For Relayer Capital’s portfolio companies, the change in ownership is expected to bring additional resources and a wider institutional network. The combined entity will be able to offer more comprehensive support to builders, from initial seed capital to later-stage growth assistance. The deal also consolidates deal flow and operational overhead, allowing the merged team to focus on fewer, higher-conviction investments.
The combined entity will operate under the RockawayX brand, with Relayer Capital’s investment professionals continuing in their roles. The integration is expected to proceed without disruption to existing portfolio support. As the crypto market matures, the enlarged firm is positioned to deploy capital across a broader risk spectrum, from early protocol development to liquid digital assets, while maintaining a single, unified investment thesis.
