Ferrero has acquired Purely Elizabeth, a Boulder, Colorado-based natural foods company known for its granola, oatmeal, and baking mixes. The purchase price was not disclosed. Purely Elizabeth, founded in 2009 by certified holistic nutrition counselor Elizabeth Stein, has built a reputation for products made with elevated, nutrient-rich ingredients, earning multiple industry awards for its wellness-focused offerings.
The acquisition brings a high-growth brand in the better-for-you breakfast and baking segments under Ferrero’s corporate umbrella. Ferrero, a global confectionery group, has been expanding its portfolio beyond chocolate and sweets into healthier food categories in recent years. Purely Elizabeth’s established presence in the natural channel and its loyal consumer base offer Ferrero a direct entry point into this growing market, complementing its existing North American operations.
For Purely Elizabeth, joining Ferrero provides access to substantial distribution networks, supply chain expertise, and research and development capabilities. The company can leverage these resources to scale its production and reach a wider audience without compromising its core mission of supporting consumer wellness. Ferrero, in turn, gains a credible platform in the premium natural foods space, diversifying its revenue streams beyond traditional confectionery.
The transaction is expected to close following customary regulatory approvals. Post-acquisition, Purely Elizabeth is anticipated to operate with a degree of autonomy, retaining its brand identity and product philosophy under Ferrero’s ownership. The combined entity will focus on maintaining product quality while exploring new product development opportunities within the natural foods sector.
