Prowind, an owner-managed group founded in 2000 and based in Osnabrück, Germany, specializes in the national and international project development of renewable energy facilities, with a primary focus on wind power. This acquisition is poised to combine the strengths of both entities to accelerate the energy transition.
Prowind’s core business encompasses the entire lifecycle of wind energy projects, from site acquisition and permitting to construction and operational management. The company has successfully developed projects with an installed capacity exceeding 380 megawatts in Germany alone, and boasts over 190 dedicated employees across its locations in Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada. Prowind is recognized for its commitment to regional, sustainable energy solutions, actively involving communities, landowners, and citizens through participation models, land compensation, and direct power supply.
This strategic acquisition allows Eneco to significantly expand its footprint and capabilities within the renewable energy development landscape.
