Apollo Micro Systems Limited

Apollo Micro Systems Limited has acquired Project Q, a European defence technology company, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the Indian engineering and systems integration firm full ownership of Project Q’s Internet of Defence (IoD) platform, which specialises in modular, scalable, and interoperable solutions for military and security applications.

Project Q focuses on transforming Commercial-Off-The-Shelf sensors and intelligence technologies into mission-ready capabilities. Its orchestration layer generates actionable situational awareness and enables rapid, wide-area integration of assets, allowing armed forces and critical-infrastructure operators to respond to evolving threats. The company’s open interfaces are designed to plug into existing systems without requiring proprietary overhauls, a feature that has made its technology relevant for asymmetric warfare scenarios.

For Apollo Micro Systems, the acquisition expands its portfolio beyond its core work in electronic systems, avionics, and ruggedised hardware for defence and aerospace. The company gains access to Project Q’s software-centric approach, which complements Apollo’s existing manufacturing and integration strengths. The deal is expected to allow Apollo to offer a more complete package to its customers, combining its hardware capabilities with Project Q’s sensor-agnostic software layer.

The strategic rationale centres on the growing demand for interoperable defence systems, particularly in Europe and allied markets. Apollo Micro Systems can now position itself as a provider of end-to-end solutions that address the challenge of integrating diverse sensors and platforms into a single operational picture. Project Q’s technology also aligns with current procurement trends favouring rapid deployment and cost-effective upgrades over large-scale bespoke programmes.

The combined entity will focus on commercialising Project Q’s IoD capabilities across Apollo’s existing client base while continuing to serve Project Q’s European customers. Near-term priorities include integrating engineering teams and aligning product roadmaps to deliver joint offerings in the critical-infrastructure and homeland-security segments.
