Vector Building Products

Vector Building Products has acquired Prestige Distribution, Inc. for an undisclosed amount. The transaction, completed under terms not made public, brings the Chicago-based specialty distributor under Vector’s corporate umbrella, expanding the acquirer’s footprint in the commercial building supply chain.

Prestige Distribution, founded in May 2004, operates offices in the Chicagoland and Dallas/Fort Worth areas and has grown into a national wholesaler of commercial building specialty products, known in the industry as Division 10. Its catalog includes toilet compartments, washroom accessories, lockers, fire extinguishers, display boards, mailboxes, window shades, bike racks, and janitorial supplies. The company also provides consulting services for design/build firms, offering value engineering, LEED-certified green product recommendations, and bathroom or locker room design guidance. Prestige works with manufacturers such as Bobrick, Bradley, Scranton Products, and Moen, and has managed projects for national clients including Regal Cinemas and Barnes & Noble, with recent work at the United Center, Google’s Chicago headquarters, Wrigley Field, and Trump Tower.

For Vector Building Products, the acquisition adds a established distribution network and a portfolio of long-standing manufacturer relationships. Prestige’s national project management capability, spanning all 50 states, gives Vector a broader platform to serve developers, architects, and general contractors. The deal also brings Prestige’s expertise in value engineering and sustainable product selection, which can complement Vector’s existing operations in the building products sector.

The combined entity is expected to leverage Prestige’s regional offices and vendor partnerships to strengthen supply chain efficiency and expand service coverage. Vector will integrate Prestige’s project management team and its client base, which includes major sports venues and corporate headquarters, into its broader distribution operations. The acquisition is set to close with Prestige’s current leadership remaining in place to ensure continuity for ongoing contracts.

With the purchase complete, Vector Building Products gains immediate scale in the Division 10 wholesale market, while Prestige Distribution retains its brand and operational identity under new ownership. The move positions the combined company to pursue larger, multi-state projects and deepen its role as a single-source supplier for commercial specialty products.
