Röchling Industrial has acquired Polypres for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the technical plastics processor under the ownership of the German-based industrial group, expanding Röchling’s manufacturing footprint in South America.
Polypres, a producer with more than 15 years of operational history, specializes in improving the processing of technical plastics. The company serves a broad range of sectors, including mechanical engineering, automotive, mining, chemical and pharmaceutical, food processing, and footwear and textile industries. Its customer base also extends to urban furniture, leisure, sport, and port and shipping applications. Polypres describes itself as an export-oriented and customer-focused operation, adaptable to shifting market conditions.
For Röchling Industrial, the acquisition adds a production site in a region where the group has sought deeper local engagement. The deal is intended to strengthen Röchling’s ability to supply technical plastic components to customers operating in Latin America, particularly those in the automotive, mining, and food industries. Polypres’ existing export network and its flexibility in processing a wide variety of materials are seen as complementary to Röchling’s established product portfolio.
The purchase also aligns with Röchling’s broader strategy of consolidating specialized processors that serve industrial niches. By integrating Polypres, Röchling gains access to a supplier base and customer relationships that were previously outside its direct reach. The combined operation is expected to benefit from shared technical knowledge in material processing and from coordinated logistics across borders.
With the ownership transfer complete, the focus now shifts to integrating Polypres into Röchling’s global structure while maintaining the acquired company’s responsiveness to its diverse clientele. The enlarged entity is positioned to offer a more comprehensive range of technical plastic solutions across the industries both companies already serve.
