Facility Grid has acquired PingCx for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings PingCx’s specialized commissioning software for building automation systems under Facility Grid’s operational umbrella, expanding the latter’s capabilities beyond its core facility management offerings.
PingCx operates as a platform dedicated to the testing and validation of building automation systems. Its tools enable repeatable testing of sequences of operation, point-to-point checkout, control-loop tuning, and full system commissioning. The software also generates detailed audit trails of commissioning processes, customized reports, and punch-list items, providing a documented record of system readiness. Facility Grid, which focuses on facility operations and management solutions, will integrate these testing and validation functions into its existing service framework.
The acquisition is driven by a need to close the gap between system installation and ongoing operational performance. Building automation projects often suffer from incomplete or inconsistent commissioning, leading to energy inefficiencies and maintenance issues later. By incorporating PingCx’s repeatable testing methodology, Facility Grid aims to standardize quality assurance across the facilities it manages. The audit history and reporting features are expected to give facility owners clearer visibility into system handover and long-term performance.
For PingCx, joining Facility Grid provides a broader distribution channel and access to a larger base of commercial and institutional clients. The platform’s tools will likely be offered as part of Facility Grid’s service contracts, rather than as a standalone product. Financial terms were not disclosed, and no changes to PingCx’s existing product roadmap have been announced.
The combined entity will focus on delivering commissioning as a routine, documented step in facility lifecycle management. Facility Grid plans to deploy PingCx’s technology across its current portfolio while continuing to support existing PingCx users. The near-term priority is integrating the two teams and aligning product development with Facility Grid’s operational workflows.
