MIDLAND has acquired Pegasus Supply Solutions Pty Ltd for an undisclosed amount, a move that expands the Australian logistics and duty-free supply specialist’s footprint across the Asia-Pacific region. The transaction, completed under terms not publicly detailed, transfers full ownership of Pegasus to MIDLAND, which will integrate the acquired operations into its existing distribution network.
Pegasus, founded in 2007, built its business supplying duty-free goods to cruise lines and airlines operating from Australia. Over the past decade and a half, the company grew from a niche supplier into a logistics partner for a majority of cruise ships departing from Australian ports. Since 2009, Pegasus also developed relationships with firms in Asia and the Pacific, increasing exports of Australian-made goods and adding warehousing, consolidation, and delivery services for multiple clients at the request of its customers.
For MIDLAND, the acquisition brings a well-established client base in the maritime and aviation retail sectors, along with Pegasus’s regional logistics capabilities. The deal allows MIDLAND to broaden its service offering beyond its current operations, particularly in the duty-free and export segments where Pegasus holds a recognised position. The purchase also provides MIDLAND with an operational hub in Australia, a market where it previously had limited direct presence.
The combined entity will leverage Pegasus’s existing relationships with cruise operators and its Asia-Pacific supply chain expertise to strengthen MIDLAND’s distribution capacity. Pegasus’s logistics arm, which handles consolidation and storage for third-party suppliers, is expected to complement MIDLAND’s existing infrastructure, potentially improving workflow efficiency for both companies’ customers. No changes to Pegasus’s day-to-day management have been announced, and the company will continue to operate under its current brand.
With the integration underway, the enlarged business is positioned to serve a wider range of clients across the duty-free and export logistics sectors. The acquisition gives MIDLAND a foothold in Australia’s cruise supply market and a platform to expand further into Asian trade routes, where Pegasus had already established a track record.
