GI Partners has acquired Otodata Industrial Gas, a provider of wireless telemetry solutions for the industrial and specialty gas sector, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction places the business under the ownership of the private investment firm, which will now oversee its operations and growth strategy.
Otodata Industrial Gas, operating as part of Otodata Wireless Technologies, supplies remote monitoring systems that track real-time customer demand and support supply chain efficiency for gas providers. Its technology combines wireless communication, fluid mechanics, and data analytics to help distributors manage inventory and delivery schedules. The company’s product line remains unchanged, though it will now benefit from additional resources and expanded manufacturing capabilities under GI Partners’ ownership.
For GI Partners, the acquisition adds a specialized industrial technology asset to its portfolio, which focuses on infrastructure and business services. The firm’s investment is expected to provide Otodata Industrial Gas with access to broader operational expertise and capital for product development. The deal also aligns with GI Partners’ interest in companies that enable digital transformation within traditional industries, particularly those addressing efficiency gaps in supply chain management.
The acquisition is structured as a full purchase, with GI Partners assuming control of Otodata Industrial Gas’s existing operations, customer contracts, and technology assets. No financial terms were disclosed, and the transaction has already closed. The previous ownership of Otodata Wireless Technologies will retain its broader business, while the industrial gas division moves under the new parent company.
The combined entity will focus on scaling production and expanding the range of telemetry products available to industrial gas customers. With GI Partners’ backing, Otodata Industrial Gas aims to strengthen its position in a niche market where demand for real-time data solutions continues to grow. The immediate priority is to maintain service continuity for existing clients while gradually introducing enhanced offerings.
