Quorum Cyber is set to acquire Ontinue from EQT Group, bringing together two Microsoft-focused managed security businesses around MXDR, AI, and 24/7 security operations. The deal stage is announced; the sources do not disclose a transaction amount.
Ontinue serves more than 250 customers across Europe and the U.S., using its ION platform to detect, investigate, and respond to threats across Microsoft environments, according to the source.
The company was carved out of Open Systems in 2023 and has since been built into a standalone business under EQT, with investments in leadership, international go-to-market, platform consolidation, and three add-on acquisitions spanning data science, AI, and cybersecurity services.
EQT says Ontinue has roughly doubled in scale during its ownership. The company has also consolidated three technology platforms into a single AI-native, automation-first platform designed to increase SOC speed and efficiency.
Christian Küpper of EQT said the combination with Quorum Cyber creates a strong platform for Ontinue's next phase of development, while the broader deal points to continued consolidation around Microsoft-focused MXDR, according to the source.
