Mercer Global Advisors has acquired NorthAvenue Financial Advocates for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the Columbus, Ohio-based wealth management firm into Mercer’s national network, expanding its footprint in the Midwest and adding a specialized practice focused on tax-aware financial planning.
NorthAvenue is a women-led and women-owned firm that provides comprehensive wealth management services, including retirement planning, estate management, investment strategy, and proactive tax planning and preparation. The team is known for addressing complex financial situations across various life stages, with a particular emphasis on educating clients and supporting career advancement for women in the industry. Mercer Global Advisors, a large independent registered investment advisor, operates a multi-office model that integrates acquired firms into its broader platform while retaining local client relationships.
The acquisition is strategic for Mercer as it deepens its presence in Ohio and aligns with the firm’s interest in adding practices with strong technical capabilities in tax-sensitive wealth management. For NorthAvenue, joining Mercer provides access to expanded resources, including advanced technology, compliance support, and a wider array of investment solutions, without disrupting the personalized service its clients currently receive. The deal also supports Mercer’s ongoing consolidation strategy in the independent advisory space, where scale and specialized expertise are increasingly important.
NorthAvenue’s leadership team will remain in place, and the firm will continue to operate under its existing brand, according to the terms of the agreement. The combined entity is expected to maintain the client-first approach that defined NorthAvenue while leveraging Mercer’s infrastructure to support future growth. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to customary closing conditions.
