Freudenberg Group

Freudenberg Group has acquired Nilfisk, the Danish-founded global provider of professional cleaning equipment and services, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition sees Freudenberg Group taking full ownership of Nilfisk, a company established in 1906 by engineer P.A. Fisker. Nilfisk is renowned for its extensive range of cleaning solutions, primarily serving professional clients worldwide.

Nilfisk's business model is heavily focused on the professional sector, with over 90% of its sales directed towards industrial and commercial customers. The remaining portion of its revenue comes from consumer-oriented floorcare equipment, vacuum cleaners, and high-pressure washers. The company boasts a significant international footprint, selling its products and services in more than 100 countries and operating eight manufacturing sites across the globe, including major facilities in the US, Mexico, Hungary, Italy, and China. In 2024, Nilfisk reported a revenue of 1,027.9 million EUR, supported by approximately 4,800 employees. Its largest markets include the USA, accounting for 28% of revenue, followed by Germany, France, Denmark, and the UK.

This strategic acquisition is expected to significantly enhance Freudenberg Group's market position and expand its portfolio within the industrial and professional solutions sector. By integrating Nilfisk's world-leading expertise in cleaning technology and its robust global distribution network, Freudenberg Group aims to achieve substantial synergies. These synergies are likely to manifest in broader market reach, enhanced product innovation through combined research and development efforts, and operational efficiencies across manufacturing and supply chains. The move represents a clear strategic alignment to strengthen offerings in professional services and equipment.

The combination of Freudenberg Group's resources and Nilfisk's established brand and product lines is poised to create a formidable entity in the global cleaning equipment market. The unified organization is expected to leverage its expanded capabilities to drive growth and deliver comprehensive solutions to a wider customer base, reinforcing its leadership in professional cleaning technology.
