nVent has acquired Maverick Power for $1.8 billion in an all-cash transaction. The deal, which closed this week, brings the electrical enclosure and connection specialist together with a provider of customized power distribution and backup systems. Maverick Power will operate as a distinct business unit within nVent’s industrial segment.
Maverick Power, founded in 2020, designs and assembles medium and low voltage distribution systems, automatic transfer switches, UPS units, static switches, and UL 508A industrial control panels. The company also offers installation, maintenance, and consultancy services aimed at optimizing power reliability for commercial and industrial clients. nVent, a global leader in electrical protection and connection products, said the acquisition expands its portfolio into higher-growth power management infrastructure.
The purchase price represents a strategic fit for nVent, which has focused on data center, industrial, and infrastructure end markets. Maverick Power’s engineered-to-order solutions complement nVent’s standardized enclosures and cooling systems, allowing the combined entity to offer a broader range of power chain components. nVent expects to leverage its global sales channels to introduce Maverick Power’s products to international customers, while Maverick Power’s service and repair capabilities add a recurring revenue stream.
The transaction is expected to be accretive to nVent’s adjusted earnings per share within the first full year after closing. Integration teams from both companies have begun work on aligning manufacturing processes and supply chains, with a focus on maintaining Maverick Power’s rapid delivery times. nVent financed the deal through existing cash and new debt, and it has reaffirmed its full-year guidance.
With the acquisition complete, the combined organization will target larger infrastructure projects that require both passive electrical components and active power switching and backup systems. Management has indicated that Maverick Power’s engineering team will remain intact, and product development will continue at its current facility. The deal positions nVent to capture more value in the electrification and data center buildout cycle, while Maverick Power gains access to a broader distribution network and financial resources for scaling production.
