KKR, a global investment firm, has acquired Lighthouse Learning Group, India's leading Early Childhood & K-12 Education group, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition signifies a strategic move by KKR to deepen its commitment to the Indian education sector, taking full ownership of a company it previously backed. Lighthouse Learning Group, formerly known as EuroKids International, operates a vast network of educational institutions across India.
Lighthouse Learning Group is dedicated to unlocking human potential by fostering a love for learning through its diverse portfolio of brands. These include prominent names such as EuroKids Preschool, Kangaroo Kids Preschool, Mother’s Pet Kindergarten, EuroSchool, Billabong High International, Centre Point School, Heritage International Xperiential School, Heritage Xperiential Learning School, Finland International School Maldives, and Phoenix Greens School of Learning. The group currently nurtures over 200,000 students daily, emphasizing a 'Child First' philosophy, innovative pedagogy, and robust child safety standards. Its extensive footprint comprises 2,000 Preschools and 60 K-12 Schools, supporting 1,850 women entrepreneurs and employing a direct and indirect workforce exceeding 25,000 individuals.
The acquisition by KKR underscores the significant growth potential identified within India's education market and Lighthouse Learning Group's established leadership position. KKR's decision to acquire the group outright is expected to provide Lighthouse with enhanced resources and strategic guidance to further expand its reach and continue its mission of delivering quality education. This move aligns with KKR's investment strategy in high-growth sectors.
Looking ahead, the combined entity is poised to strengthen Lighthouse Learning Group's market presence and accelerate its initiatives in educational innovation and expansion. The acquisition is anticipated to support Lighthouse in scaling its operations, enhancing its educational offerings, and solidifying its impact on the Indian education landscape.
