Incap has acquired Lacon Electronic GmbH for an undisclosed amount. Lacon Electronic GmbH, part of the Lacon Group, has operated as a full-service mechatronics supplier in Europe for 40 years, establishing itself as one of the Top 20 EMS providers in Germany. The Lacon Group achieves an annual turnover of almost 60 million euros and employs approximately 250 people in Germany, based in Karlsfeld near Munich, and 350 in its Romanian subsidiary. The owner-managed company, led by CEO Dr. Ralf Hasler, CFO Christian von der Linde, and COO Afrem Alfia, has grown steadily since 1985.
Lacon Electronic GmbH positions itself as an EMS accelerator, capable of realizing complete products for a broad customer and product base. Its offerings span rail systems, mechanical engineering, box build, medical engineering, automotive, robotics, and innovative consumer products, serving international technology corporations, SMEs, and start-ups. The company provides comprehensive production services for electronic modules, devices, and systems across the entire value chain, from prototyping to industrialization and complete series production. This includes embedded development, Euroconnectors Distribution, and high-volume production facilities in Romania, where Lacon SRL operates with German quality standards at Romanian factor costs.
This acquisition is strategically significant for Incap, expanding its footprint and capabilities within the European electronics manufacturing services market. Lacon Electronic GmbH's deep expertise in mechatronics, integrated development, and full product lifecycle support complements Incap's existing operations. The addition of Lacon's established presence in Germany and its cost-effective production facilities in Romania enhances Incap's geographic reach and operational flexibility. The diverse customer portfolio and specialized product segments of Lacon are expected to broaden Incap's market access and strengthen its service offering.
The combined entity is poised to deliver a more comprehensive and integrated suite of EMS solutions to a wider array of industries. This strategic move is anticipated to reinforce Incap's competitive position, driving continued growth and enabling the delivery of enhanced value to customers through expanded capabilities and a stronger European presence.
