Foodtastic has acquired Kinton Ramen, according to a source report dated September 21, 2026. The acquisition closed in June 2026. The amount was not disclosed in the sources.
Foodtastic is a Montréal-based restaurant platform founded in 2016. Its brands include Second Cup, Milestones, Pita Pit, Freshii, Quesada, Noodlebox, Shoeless Joe's and Kinton Ramen. Foodtastic says its system sales have grown from approximately $50 million to more than $1 billion over the past decade, and its portfolio now spans 30 brands and more than 1,200 locations.
The source describes Foodtastic's acquisition approach as acquiring established concepts with loyal customers, preserving the identity and experience that made each brand successful, and adding purchasing power, real estate access, marketing support and franchise infrastructure. It says the platform is then used to expand into new categories and markets.
According to the source, Foodtastic pursued Kinton Ramen for three years. After closing, the company said Kinton's menu, loyalty program, brand identity and franchisee relationships would remain unchanged, while Foodtastic's infrastructure would support its next stage of expansion.
The source frames the Kinton deal as an example of a central tension in restaurant consolidation: efficiencies need to happen behind the scenes, while each brand still needs to feel distinctive to the customer.
