TRP Infrastructure Services has acquired Interstate Barricades for an undisclosed amount. The transaction, which closed recently, transfers full ownership of the barricade and traffic control provider to TRP, marking the buyer’s entry into the temporary works segment. Interstate Barricades, a small operation with 95 LinkedIn followers, specializes in the supply and installation of safety barricades for roadworks and construction sites.
TRP Infrastructure Services focuses on broader infrastructure maintenance and civil works, including road repairs and utility installations. The acquisition adds a dedicated barricade rental and setup capability to TRP’s existing service portfolio. For Interstate Barricades, the deal provides access to TRP’s larger client base and operational resources, which could help the smaller firm scale its equipment fleet and geographic reach.
The strategic rationale centers on vertical integration. TRP previously subcontracted barricade work for its own projects, a cost and scheduling inefficiency. By bringing that function in-house, the company gains direct control over delivery timelines and quality. Interstate Barricades, in turn, benefits from TRP’s established relationships with municipal and private contractors, potentially increasing utilization of its inventory.
No financial terms were disclosed, and neither company has announced changes to leadership or staffing. The acquisition is expected to close administrative integration within the current quarter, with combined operations beginning immediately after. TRP will retain the Interstate Barricades brand for existing contracts, while gradually folding new work under its own name.
The combined entity will offer a single-source solution for infrastructure clients, from initial barricading to final road restoration. Near-term focus will be on harmonizing equipment standards and dispatch systems across both teams. If integration proceeds smoothly, TRP may pursue additional small acquisitions in adjacent safety services, though no such plans have been confirmed.
