Beacon Holdings has acquired Haize Labs, an AI reliability company specializing in red teaming, guardrails, evaluation and observability for AI agents. The deal was reported on September 21, 2026. The amount was not disclosed in the sources.
Toronto-based Beacon acquired San Francisco-based Haize Labs. The Haize team will form Beacon's Applied AI Research Group, and co-founder and CEO Leonard Tang will join Beacon as VP of AI Research, leading work on the AI operating system deployed across Beacon's companies.
According to the source, the transaction differs from Beacon's typical acquisition of an operating software business. Haize adds a centralized capability intended to support Beacon's portfolio of 45 software companies, which the source says collectively serve more than 22,000 businesses and institutions across recreation, utilities, education, government, manufacturing and other essential industries.
The source states that Beacon plans to use the team to build reusable AI infrastructure, translate industry expertise into evaluation systems, and continuously test and monitor AI agents before and after deployment. The stated strategic logic is to make specialized AI reliability capabilities available across the portfolio rather than requiring each operating company to assemble them independently.
The source describes the deal as less about adding another portfolio company and more about strengthening the shared infrastructure behind the entire holding company, giving Beacon the technical layer needed to deploy AI more consistently across a diverse group of vertical software businesses.
