Homewerks Worldwide

Homewerks Worldwide has acquired GTR Technologies, Inc. for an undisclosed amount. The transaction, which closed recently, transfers full ownership of GTR’s operations, product portfolio, and retail relationships to Homewerks. GTR Technologies will operate as a wholly owned unit under the Homewerks umbrella, with its existing management team expected to remain in place during the transition.

GTR Technologies is a technology and product development company that designs, produces, and sells innovative home products. Its current lineup is carried by Home Depot, Lowe’s, Costco, and Best Buy across the United States and Canadian markets. Homewerks Worldwide, a manufacturer and distributor of residential plumbing, ventilation, and water control systems, has built its business largely through wholesale channels and private-label partnerships. The acquisition brings GTR’s direct retail shelf presence into Homewerks’ existing distribution network, which previously had limited exposure to big-box consumer outlets.

For Homewerks, the deal expands its product categories beyond core plumbing and ventilation into adjacent home goods, including items that GTR has already developed and commercialized. GTR’s engineering team adds in-house design capability that Homewerks can apply to future product lines, reducing reliance on third-party development. On the retail side, Homewerks gains immediate access to GTR’s established relationships with major national chains, offering a faster route to market for its own existing products in those stores.

The acquisition also gives GTR access to Homewerks’ broader manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure, which could lower production costs and improve margin performance on its current SKUs. While no financial terms were disclosed, the deal is expected to close without regulatory hurdles, as the two companies’ product lines have limited overlap. The combined entity will now manage a wider assortment of home goods, from water heaters and exhaust fans to consumer-facing gadgets and tools, sold through both wholesale and retail channels.

Post-transaction, the focus will be on integrating GTR’s product roadmap into Homewerks’ operational framework while preserving the retail relationships that GTR has built. The first joint product launches are likely to appear within the next two fiscal quarters, as the companies align their development calendars. Whether the acquisition leads to further consolidation in the home products sector remains to be seen, but the move positions Homewerks as a more diversified supplier in a competitive retail environment.
