Ascentiel Groupe has acquired Grupo Concentra for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the Spanish and Portuguese insurance intermediary under the ownership of the French-based group, which expands its operational footprint across the Iberian Peninsula.
Grupo Concentra operates as an independent insurance and reinsurance intermediary in Spain and Portugal. With more than two decades of activity, the company has developed an integrated structure under a single brand, offering specialised risk management and insurance solutions. Its business lines span retail, wholesale, international programmes, and extended warranties, serving corporate clients, professionals, and individuals. The firm employs over 300 professionals across both markets.
Ascentiel Groupe’s acquisition is aimed at broadening its distribution capabilities in Southern Europe. The purchase gives the group direct access to Concentra’s established client base and its multi-line brokerage expertise, particularly in the wholesale and international programme segments. For Concentra, joining a larger group provides access to additional capital resources and a wider network, which may support further development of its service offering without altering its current market positioning.
The deal is expected to create operational efficiencies through shared administrative functions and cross-border collaboration on complex risk placements. Concentra’s management team is anticipated to remain in place to ensure continuity for existing clients and business partners. Regulatory approvals, where applicable, are part of the standard closing process.
The combined entity will hold a stronger position in the European insurance distribution market, with a presence spanning France, Spain, and Portugal. Future growth is likely to focus on expanding international programme capabilities and leveraging the enlarged group’s scale to negotiate improved terms with underwriters.
