Sports Tours International has acquired Golfbreaks for an undisclosed amount. Golfbreaks, formed in 1998 by Chief Executive Andrew Stanley, operates from offices in the UK, US, and Denmark. The company annually organises golf breaks, holidays, and tournament experiences for over 200,000 golfers across more than 2,000 resorts and golf courses worldwide. As the Official Golf Tourism Operator of the PGA TOUR with over 25 years’ experience, Golfbreaks is recognised as The Golf Travel Experts, known for delivering outstanding choice, value, and service, with the reassurance and security of booking with a fully bonded travel company, holding ATOL and ABTOT accreditations in the UK.
This acquisition marks a strategic expansion for Sports Tours International, a company engaged in providing diverse sports travel experiences. The integration of Golfbreaks' established market leadership in golf tourism, its extensive global network of golf destinations, and its official partnership with the PGA TOUR will significantly enhance Sports Tours International's presence within the specialist sports travel sector. The move is designed to broaden the acquiring company's offerings and leverage Golfbreaks' deep expertise in a high-demand niche of the travel market.
Expected synergies from the acquisition include the potential for cross-selling opportunities, operational efficiencies, and an expanded customer base. By combining Golfbreaks' specialist knowledge and robust infrastructure for golf travel with Sports Tours International's broader operational capabilities, the combined entity aims to deliver a more comprehensive and diverse range of sports tourism products. The acquisition positions the unified company to capitalise on the growing global interest in curated sports holidays and event experiences, strengthening its overall market position in the international sports travel industry.
