Informa has acquired the Global Wellness Summit (GWS), the international conference organizer for the wellness industries, for an undisclosed amount. The deal brings the annual leadership gathering under the umbrella of Informa’s expansive events portfolio, which spans sectors from health and nutrition to hospitality and technology.
GWS operates as a yearly summit that convenes executives, policymakers, and innovators from more than 45 countries. Its delegate base draws from spa, hospitality, tourism, health, beauty, finance, medical, architecture, real estate, manufacturing, and technology. The event rotates locations globally, positioning itself as a neutral platform for cross-industry dialogue on wellness trends, research, and investment. Informa, a London-based events, digital services, and academic publishing group, will integrate GWS into its existing conference and exhibition division.
The acquisition is strategic for Informa as it deepens the company’s footprint in the fast-growing wellness economy, a sector that intersects with several of its core verticals. For GWS, joining Informa provides access to a larger commercial infrastructure, broader marketing reach, and established relationships with corporate sponsors and exhibitors. Informa’s experience in scaling B2B events is expected to help GWS expand its attendee base and enhance the summit’s commercial offerings without altering its content-driven, invitation-style ethos.
Operationally, GWS will retain its brand identity and editorial independence, while benefiting from Informa’s back-office support in logistics, data analytics, and global sales. The combined entity is positioned to strengthen the summit’s role as a neutral convening point for wellness leaders, while also opening new revenue streams through adjacent Informa products such as digital subscriptions and industry research. The first jointly managed edition is slated for the next scheduled summit, with no immediate changes to its rotating host-city format.
