SARIA UK has acquired Fiordo Austral, a Chilean holding company, for an undisclosed amount. The deal brings the South American business, which operates seven production plants stretching from Santiago to Porvenir, under the full ownership of the UK-based animal by-products processor. Fiordo Austral’s subsidiaries, AminoChem and SMT, are included in the transaction.

Fiordo Austral is a diversified holding with a workforce spanning multiple regions in Chile and a commercial presence in various international markets. Its operations focus on the processing and valorisation of animal-derived materials, producing ingredients for sectors such as pet food, aquaculture, and agriculture. SARIA UK, part of the broader SARIA group, specialises in collecting and recycling animal by-products into high-quality proteins and fats for feed and industrial uses.

The acquisition is strategic for SARIA UK as it extends its supply chain and production footprint into Latin America, a region with growing demand for sustainable protein sources. By integrating Fiordo Austral’s plants and its two subsidiaries, SARIA UK gains direct access to local raw material collection networks and established export routes. For Fiordo Austral, the deal provides access to SARIA’s larger operational scale, technical expertise, and research capabilities, which could enhance efficiency across its seven facilities.

The transaction is expected to create operational synergies in logistics, procurement, and product development. SARIA UK can leverage Fiordo Austral’s geographic spread to balance seasonal supply fluctuations, while the Chilean holding can adopt SARIA’s advanced processing technologies to improve yield and quality. The combined entity will also be better positioned to serve multinational customers seeking consistent supply from both Europe and South America.

With the acquisition complete, the focus now shifts to integrating Fiordo Austral’s workforce and plant operations into SARIA UK’s management framework. The enlarged group is poised to strengthen its role in the circular economy, converting more animal by-products into valuable inputs for global food and feed chains. Market observers will watch how the combined operations perform in the coming quarters, particularly in navigating regional regulatory environments and expanding export volumes.
