COS Systems has acquired Fiber Flow Solution for an undisclosed amount, bringing the fiber optic cable blowing equipment specialist under its ownership. The deal transfers control of Fiber Flow Solution to COS Systems and adds its network installation hardware to the acquirer's portfolio.
COS Systems provides software and systems for network operators, with a focus on managing and automating fiber deployment. Fiber Flow Solution supplies fiber optic cable blowing equipment, which is used to install cables through ducts by propelling them with compressed air. The two businesses therefore sit at different points in the same deployment chain: one supplies the equipment that places cable, the other supplies the systems that plan and manage networks.
The acquisition is intended to give COS Systems a hardware capability that complements its existing software. By owning both, the company can offer operators a more connected set of tools for building and running fiber networks, rather than relying on third-party equipment. Fiber Flow Solution gains access to a larger customer base and the resources of its new parent.
Integrating the two operations is expected to reduce friction for customers who currently source software and installation equipment separately. The companies have not disclosed the purchase price or the terms of the transaction.
The combined entity will focus on aligning Fiber Flow Solution's equipment with COS Systems' network management systems, with further integration of products and support expected over time.
