The acquisition sees Sysco GB take ownership of a well-established company known for supplying high-quality meat products across the UK foodservice sector. Fairfax Meadow has operated for over 50 years, serving some of the nation’s largest and most reputable brands, as well as fine hotels and restaurants, with a strong focus on animal husbandry standards and stringent traceability.
Fairfax Meadow distinguishes itself through its commitment to quality, evidenced by its Grade AA BRC certification across all sites. The company is recognised for its expertise in processes such as ageing premium beef and creating award-winning burgers and sausages. These capabilities add significant meat manufacturing capacity to its new parent company. Sysco GB, a major player in the foodservice industry, views this acquisition as a pivotal step in its strategy to expand its 'centre of plate' offering and establish itself as the UK's foremost fresh meat supplier to the foodservice sector.
This strategic move follows Sysco GB's recent acquisition of Campbell’s Prime Meat, which covers Scotland and northern England. The integration of Fairfax Meadow, with its production and distribution hubs in Derby, Enfield, and Eastleigh, significantly enhances Sysco GB's national footprint, creating an extensive meat distribution network. The combined expertise of Fairfax Meadow's long-standing industry knowledge and Sysco GB's deep understanding and reach within the foodservice sector is expected to yield substantial synergies.
