Flex has acquired EPC Power Corp. in a deal valued at $4.4 billion. The transaction, which has been finalized, brings the power conversion specialist under Flex’s corporate umbrella, expanding the electronics manufacturer’s footprint in the energy infrastructure sector.
EPC Power, founded in 2010, designs and manufactures advanced power conversion systems for data centers, energy storage, and solar applications. The company reports more than 15 gigawatts of deployed capacity worldwide, with a focus on utility-scale reliability and modular architecture. Flex, a global supply chain and manufacturing partner, will integrate EPC Power’s product line into its broader portfolio of industrial and technology solutions.
The acquisition is driven by the growing demand for efficient power management as artificial intelligence, electrification, and renewable energy projects strain existing electrical grids. EPC Power’s technology addresses how electricity is converted and controlled at scale, a capability Flex intends to leverage across its customer base. For Flex, the purchase provides direct ownership of a specialized hardware platform rather than relying on third-party suppliers, strengthening its position in the energy value chain.
Flex expects to use EPC Power’s engineering and production expertise to offer more integrated solutions to clients in the data center and utility sectors. The combined operations will likely focus on scaling manufacturing output to meet rising orders for grid-connected power equipment. Financial details beyond the purchase price were not disclosed, and no changes to EPC Power’s existing leadership or workforce have been announced.
The completion of this acquisition positions Flex to compete more directly in the power electronics market, where demand is projected to grow alongside global electrification efforts. The integration of EPC Power’s technology into Flex’s service model will be closely watched by industry analysts as the two companies align their operational strategies over the coming quarters.
