Guidant Power has acquired Dyna Scan Technical Services, a provider of electrical studies and infrared inspection services, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the long-standing firm, which had operated under the Guidant Power name as a separate unit, fully under the parent company’s ownership structure.
Dyna Scan Technical Services has performed electrical studies and infrared inspections since 1986, conducting thousands of surveys across hospitals, industrial plants, and commercial buildings in more than 40 states. Its client base includes healthcare operators such as Community Health Systems, Kindred Healthcare, Select Specialty Hospitals, Quorum Health Corporation, and LifePoint Health, as well as industrial and retail names like Sonoco, Save A Lot, Papa Johns, and Toyota Boshoku. The company conducts infrared inspections in over 200 hospitals annually, focusing on predicting and preventing equipment failures, outages, and fires.
For Guidant Power, the acquisition consolidates a service line that had previously been managed as a distinct brand under its corporate umbrella. By folding Dyna Scan Technical Services into its core operations, Guidant Power gains direct control over a recurring, inspection-based revenue stream tied to critical infrastructure maintenance. The move also deepens its relationships with established healthcare and industrial clients, many of whom rely on these predictive maintenance services to maintain safety and operational continuity.
The combined entity is expected to streamline administrative functions and coordinate service delivery more closely across Guidant Power’s broader electrical offerings. Dyna Scan’s specialized infrared inspection expertise will remain a dedicated focus, but with greater access to shared resources and a unified client management approach. No changes to field operations or client contracts have been announced.
With the acquisition complete, Guidant Power now holds a more integrated position in the electrical services market, particularly within the healthcare sector where recurring inspection contracts provide a stable base. The company is positioned to expand its geographic reach and cross-sell additional services to Dyna Scan’s existing customers, while maintaining the technical depth that has defined the acquired firm for nearly four decades.
