SEPPmail GmbH has acquired CyberPilot, a privately held Danish cybersecurity services and consulting firm, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the German email security provider together with a Copenhagen-based team that advises organizations of all sizes on improving their security posture.
CyberPilot operates as a consultancy rather than a product vendor. Its approach centers on tailoring security measures to each client’s specific situation, emphasizing that effective protection depends as much on people and processes as on technical tools. The company’s consultants work to simplify complex security challenges, helping clients determine where to allocate resources and how to build internal capabilities. SEPPmail, by contrast, specializes in email encryption and secure communication solutions, offering technical products that protect corporate correspondence from threats such as phishing and data leakage.
The acquisition is strategic for SEPPmail because it adds a services layer to its existing product portfolio. While SEPPmail has historically focused on software and infrastructure, CyberPilot brings hands-on expertise in assessing vulnerabilities, designing security strategies, and training staff. This combination allows SEPPmail to offer customers a more complete package, from technical safeguards to advisory support. For CyberPilot, joining SEPPmail provides access to a broader international customer base and the resources of a larger organization, without altering its core mission of making cybersecurity understandable and actionable.
The two companies expect to integrate CyberPilot’s consulting practice with SEPPmail’s product development, enabling joint projects where technical solutions are deployed alongside tailored guidance. Existing CyberPilot clients will continue to receive services from the same team, now backed by SEPPmail’s infrastructure. The deal also gives SEPPmail a foothold in the Danish market, where CyberPilot has established relationships with both public and private sector organizations.
With the acquisition complete, the combined entity will operate across Germany and Denmark, offering a blend of security products and consulting services. The immediate focus will be on aligning delivery processes and introducing CyberPilot’s advisory offerings to SEPPmail’s existing customers, while maintaining continuity for current CyberPilot engagements.
