JOST International has acquired CTJ Janssen GmbH for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers full ownership of the German transport firm to JOST, which now adds the company’s fleet and operational network to its portfolio. CTJ Janssen will continue to operate under its existing brand, with its management team remaining in place to ensure continuity for customers and employees.
CTJ Janssen GmbH, founded in 1985 and led by the second generation of the founding family since 2008, has evolved from a pure tanker logistics provider into a modern, full-service transport company. With more than 300 owned vehicles, the firm has built a reputation for reliability and quality in road freight, particularly in the chemical and industrial sectors. JOST International, a global player in transport and logistics services, brings complementary scale, cross-border routes, and digital fleet management capabilities to the table.
The acquisition is driven by JOST’s need to expand its European road transport capacity, especially in the DACH region, where CTJ Janssen holds a strong position. For CTJ Janssen, joining JOST provides access to a broader international network and shared back-office infrastructure, which can reduce administrative costs while maintaining the operational flexibility that its customers expect. The deal also allows JOST to deepen its service offering in tanker logistics, an area where CTJ Janssen has decades of specialised expertise.
No financial details of the transaction have been disclosed, and the deal is not subject to any external financing conditions. Both companies have confirmed that existing contracts and customer relationships will remain unaffected. The integration process is expected to be gradual, with a focus on aligning IT systems and procurement processes over the coming months.
The combined entity will operate a significantly larger fleet across Europe, with a stronger presence in both general freight and specialised tanker transport. For CTJ Janssen’s employees, the acquisition brings the stability of a larger parent group, while JOST gains a proven, family-run operation with deep local knowledge. The success of the integration will likely hinge on preserving the entrepreneurial culture that has defined CTJ Janssen for nearly four decades.
