Parker Hannifin has acquired CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense for $2.5 billion. The transaction, structured as an all-cash deal, adds a complementary portfolio of fluidic control, actuation, and landing gear systems to Parker’s existing aerospace operations. CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense, a business unit of CIRCOR International, will be integrated into Parker’s Aerospace Systems Segment.
CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense specializes in components for demanding flight environments, including valves, pumps, and actuation systems, as well as complete landing gear assemblies. Its operations span multiple sites in California and New York, along with facilities in France, the United Kingdom, and Morocco. Parker Hannifin, a global leader in motion and control technologies, brings decades of experience in fluid systems and flight control components, making the product lines highly complementary.
The acquisition is driven by a need to broaden Parker’s content on next-generation aircraft platforms and defense programs. CIRCOR’s landing gear capability, in particular, represents a new adjacent technology for Parker, allowing the company to offer a more integrated actuation and landing system package. The combined engineering teams are expected to accelerate development cycles for customers facing supply chain consolidation pressures. Parker’s global manufacturing footprint will also provide CIRCOR products with access to a wider network of production and aftermarket support.
Parker financed the purchase through cash on hand and new debt issuance. The company stated that the deal will be accretive to earnings within the first full year after closing. CIRCOR International will use the proceeds to reduce its own debt and focus on its remaining industrial flow technology businesses.
With the integration underway, the combined entity is positioned to serve as a single-source supplier for complex hydraulic and mechanical systems on commercial and military airframes. The expanded portfolio is expected to strengthen Parker’s competitive stance in long-term platform contracts, while CIRCOR’s specialized engineering teams gain access to Parker’s broader customer base and global service network.
