Mount Everest Breweries Limited (MEBL) has acquired Cheers Breweries Ltd. for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition signifies a strategic expansion for MEBL, a prominent entity within the Associated Kedia Group and a leading force in the Indian brewing industry. The transaction involves MEBL directly purchasing Cheers Breweries, a company operating within the beverage sector, rather than securing a funding round or investment.
Established in 1999, MEBL operates Central India's most advanced brewery in Simrol, Indore, featuring world-class technology and a significant installed capacity of 10 lakh hectolitres. Dedicated to crafting exceptional beer experiences, MEBL partners with United Breweries for manufacturing and develops its own distinct brands, including STOK, Lemount, Mount’s 6000, and Dabang. The company’s focus on uncompromising quality and innovation has driven its efforts to expand its market presence across India, particularly in states like Goa and Maharashtra, and to continuously increase its production capabilities.
This acquisition is strategically aligned with MEBL’s growth ambitions. By integrating Cheers Breweries, MEBL aims to achieve significant synergies, including an immediate increase in overall production capacity and an expansion of its market footprint. The move is designed to enhance MEBL’s ability to deliver its high-quality brews to a broader consumer base. The combined entity is expected to benefit from MEBL’s established operational excellence and customer-centric approach. This strategic purchase is anticipated to accelerate MEBL’s progress towards its long-term goals of achieving higher production volumes and strengthening its competitive position within the dynamic Indian brewing landscape.
