ANV Nordic has acquired Car Care Plan for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers ownership of the UK-based vehicle warranty provider from its previous parent, AmTrust Financial Services Inc., to the Nordic insurance group. Car Care Plan will continue to operate under its existing brand and management structure.
Car Care Plan, established in 1976, is a leading provider of vehicle warranties, cosmetic warranty programmes, and other after-sales motoring products. The company registers over 1.5 million policies annually in the UK and serves more than 25 motor manufacturers as a preferred supplier. Its operations span offices in the UK, China, Turkey, the US, Spain, and Brazil, with a significant global footprint. The firm is FCA regulated and works closely with its sister company, Motors Insurance Company Limited, for underwriting. Its in-house repair division, DWV, handles cosmetic and alloy wheel insurance claims.
ANV Nordic, the acquiring party, is a specialist insurance group with a focus on warranty and assistance products across the Nordic region. The acquisition broadens its geographic reach and product portfolio, adding Car Care Plan’s established dealer networks and affinity partnerships to its existing operations. For Car Care Plan, the move provides access to ANV Nordic’s capital base and underwriting expertise, which may support further expansion of its international programmes.
The deal is expected to create operational efficiencies in claims handling and product development, as both companies share a focus on vehicle after-sales services. Car Care Plan’s existing client relationships, including those with major motor manufacturers and independent dealers, are anticipated to remain intact under the new ownership. The transaction also allows ANV Nordic to enter the UK market with an established platform rather than building from scratch.
The combined entity will now operate across multiple European and Asian markets, with Car Care Plan’s scale in the UK complementing ANV Nordic’s regional strength. Integration efforts will likely centre on aligning underwriting standards and sharing best practices in customer service. The acquisition positions the group to compete more effectively in the global vehicle warranty sector, though no immediate changes to Car Care Plan’s day-to-day operations have been announced.
