Tonner Drones

Tonner Drones has acquired Azur Drones for an undisclosed amount, consolidating its position in the automated aerial security sector. The transaction brings Azur Drones’ SKEYETECH E2 platform, a drone-in-a-box system designed for continuous, remote-operated surveillance and inspection, under Tonner Drones’ ownership.

Azur Drones is a French manufacturer whose SKEYETECH E2 operates 24/7 beyond visual line of sight, a capability that has made it one of the most widely deployed systems of its kind globally. The platform is used by industrial and governmental clients, including TotalEnergies, ArcelorMittal, Orano, and the Port of Dunkirk, across more than ten countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and South America. Tonner Drones, also a French company, focuses on developing unmanned aerial systems and related technologies for professional applications.

The acquisition is intended to broaden Tonner Drones’ product portfolio with a mature, field-proven solution that is already generating commercial traction. Azur Drones brings not only its hardware but also a full-service support model, covering deployment, maintenance, and regulatory compliance, which Tonner Drones can integrate into its existing operations. The deal also provides access to Azur Drones’ established client base in energy, heavy industry, and public infrastructure, sectors where demand for automated monitoring is growing.

For Azur Drones, joining Tonner Drones offers access to additional resources for scaling production and expanding its geographic footprint. The combined entity will be able to offer a wider range of aerial platforms, from Tonner Drones’ existing systems to the SKEYETECH E2, while sharing engineering and certification expertise. Both companies operate in the French drone ecosystem, which may simplify integration of teams and supply chains.

The combined company is expected to focus on deepening its presence in existing markets while pursuing new contracts in critical infrastructure protection. With Azur Drones’ technology already deployed in demanding environments, the acquisition positions Tonner Drones to compete more directly in the automated drone segment, where operational reliability and regulatory experience are key differentiators.
