GONEO has acquired Afore Solar Inverter Technologies for an undisclosed amount, a move that consolidates the latter’s inverter manufacturing capabilities under the ownership of the acquiring firm. The transaction, finalized this week, transfers full control of AFORE’s operations, technology portfolio, and global sales network to GONEO, marking the end of AFORE’s status as an independent entity.
AFORE, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Shanghai, designs and manufactures a complete range of solar and hybrid inverters, including single-phase, three-phase, energy storage, and intelligent monitoring systems. The company operates through nine overseas offices in markets such as the UK, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Serbia, and Australia, providing localized support for residential and distributed energy projects. GONEO, the buyer, is acquiring these assets to broaden its own product lineup and gain immediate access to AFORE’s established distribution channels across multiple continents.
The rationale for the acquisition centers on product portfolio expansion and geographic reach. AFORE’s engineering team, described as fully independent with over a decade of experience, will be integrated into GONEO’s structure, allowing the combined entity to offer a wider range of inverter solutions-from single-phase residential units to VPP-ready storage systems-without the need for organic development from scratch. For GONEO, the deal reduces time-to-market for new offerings in Europe and Asia-Pacific, where AFORE already holds a presence.
Operational synergies are expected in manufacturing efficiency and supply chain management, as GONEO can now leverage AFORE’s production expertise alongside its own resources. The acquisition also brings AFORE’s intelligent monitoring software into GONEO’s ecosystem, potentially enabling more integrated energy management solutions for existing customers. No changes to AFORE’s current customer contracts or service obligations have been announced.
The combined company will now operate with a broader inverter portfolio and a stronger footprint in key overseas markets. Integration of AFORE’s R&D team and office network will be the immediate focus, with the goal of maintaining continuity for existing clients while gradually aligning product roadmaps. The success of the deal will depend on how smoothly GONEO can merge two distinct corporate cultures and technology stacks in the coming quarters.
