METRANS Group, a prominent intermodal logistics operator, has acquired AFLUENT Arad South Terminal for an undisclosed amount. This strategic acquisition marks a significant expansion for METRANS, integrating a key logistics hub in Western Romania into its extensive European network. AFLUENT Arad South Terminal, previously operated by AFLUENT, is a well-established facility crucial for regional freight distribution.
The Arad South Terminal is strategically located south of Arad, offering rapid access to the A1 motorway and the E671 road, positioning it close to the industrial zones of Arad and Timișoara. The terminal spans a total area of 75,000 square meters and is equipped with four railway lines, each 350 meters long, two reachstackers for efficient container handling, and parking capacity for 200 trucks. These features underscore its capability as a robust intermodal facility.
This acquisition is a strategic move for METRANS Group to strengthen its presence in Southeast Europe and enhance its intermodal transport services. By incorporating the Arad South Terminal, METRANS aims to expand its operational footprint, increase capacity, and improve connectivity for its customers across the continent. The terminal's prime location and existing infrastructure are expected to create immediate synergies, streamlining logistics operations and offering more efficient routes for goods moving through the region.
The integration of AFLUENT Arad South Terminal into the METRANS network is anticipated to boost operational efficiency and service reliability. The combined entity will offer an expanded and more robust intermodal solution, further solidifying METRANS's position as a leading provider of sustainable and efficient freight transport. This move is set to benefit businesses seeking enhanced connectivity and streamlined supply chains in the growing Romanian and broader European markets.
