Greenland Energy Company has acquired 80 Mile PLC for $83.3 million, a cash-and-share transaction that transfers full ownership of the London AIM-listed critical metals explorer to the energy group. The deal, which has received approval from 80 Mile’s board, will see the company delisted from its current exchanges, including the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the U.S. Pink Market, as it becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Greenland Energy.
80 Mile PLC is an exploration and development company focused on high-grade critical metals in Tier 1 jurisdictions, with a diversified portfolio spanning Greenland and Finland. Its strategy has centered on advancing key projects while creating value through partnerships and strategic acquisitions. Greenland Energy Company, which operates in the energy and resource sector, is acquiring these assets to broaden its mineral footprint and secure upstream supply of metals essential for energy transition technologies.
The acquisition is driven by Greenland Energy’s need to control a pipeline of critical raw materials, particularly in Greenland, where 80 Mile holds several early-stage exploration licenses. For 80 Mile, the deal provides access to larger capital reserves and development expertise, which have historically been constrained by its junior market listing. The transaction also consolidates Greenland-focused mineral claims under a single owner, reducing administrative overlap and potential land-use conflicts.
Post-acquisition, Greenland Energy intends to integrate 80 Mile’s exploration teams into its existing operations, prioritizing the most advanced projects in Finland for near-term feasibility studies. The combined entity will hold a broader asset base across two stable mining jurisdictions, allowing for shared geological data and infrastructure planning. No immediate changes to field programs have been announced, but the new ownership structure is expected to accelerate permitting timelines for key targets. The deal is set to close within the next quarter, subject to customary regulatory clearances.
