Lexroom has acquired Правен Интелект (Praven Intelekt), a Bulgarian AI legal assistant, for an undisclosed amount. The deal brings the Sofia-based startup’s technology and team under Lexroom’s ownership, marking the acquiring company’s entry into the Bulgarian legal-tech market. Praven Intelekt will continue to operate its existing platform, but its development will now be directed by Lexroom’s broader product strategy.
Praven Intelekt specializes in automating legal research and document drafting for Bulgarian law. Its tool allows lawyers to pose research questions, analyze contracts, and generate ready-to-use drafts based on official legal sources. Lexroom, for its part, provides a digital workspace for legal professionals, focusing on case management and document workflow. The acquisition gives Lexroom a native-language AI layer that can be integrated into its existing suite, rather than building such capabilities from scratch.
The strategic rationale centers on product depth. Lexroom gains immediate access to a working AI model trained on Bulgarian legislation, which shortens its development timeline considerably. For Praven Intelekt, joining Lexroom offers a larger distribution channel and a more established client base across multiple jurisdictions. The combined entity can now offer both the administrative backbone of legal practice and the research-and-drafting intelligence that sits on top of it.
No financial terms were disclosed, and no changes to Praven Intelekt’s current user access have been announced. The platform remains free to try at its existing web address. Over the coming quarters, the two teams are expected to align their roadmaps, with Praven Intelekt’s AI features likely becoming a core component of Lexroom’s offering for Bulgarian users. The acquisition positions the combined company to compete more directly with larger, pan-European legal-tech providers that have yet to localize their AI tools for the Bulgarian market.
