The race to commercialize clean fusion energy just got a significant boost, with General Fusion securing $335.0M in new capital. The Richmond, BC-based company, established in 2002, is a global leader in developing zero-carbon fusion power, aiming to deliver it to the grid by the early to mid-2030s.
General Fusion is currently operating its Lawson Machine 26 (LM26) demonstration machine, which uses a Magnetized Target Fusion approach. Its path to market is backed by a global syndicate of energy venture capital firms, industry leaders, and technology pioneers.
