Phase3D, a company bringing trusted inspection technologies to the additive manufacturing (AM) industry, has closed a $2.0M Seed funding round. The startup aims to empower AM through its core products, Fringe Research and Fringe Qualification, which provide customers with confidence by creating heightmaps of every layer to reduce lead time, increase machine utilization, and ensure build quality.
The investment round drew support from Kinisis Ventures Fund II, New York Angels, Quest Venture Partners, and DMG Mori. Phase3D's technology uses structured light to measure every layer of every build, identifying anomalies without relying on artificial intelligence or machine learning, offering fully unit-based, repeatable, and calibratable heightmaps in microns.
