Smarter Raises $100K Funding

Smarter, the London-based company known for its smart home appliances, has secured $100,000 in new funding.

The company, founded in 2013 by Christian Lane, is recognized for bringing the world’s first Wi-Fi-enabled iKettle, Smarter Coffee machine, and FridgeCam to market.

Smarter's mission is to integrate technology and design to simplify daily life for consumers.

The recently launched FridgeCam is a key product, designed to retrofit into any refrigerator, transforming it into a smart appliance.

It features a best-before tracker to monitor food expiration dates and allows users to add items directly to a shopping list, aiming to significantly reduce food waste.

Smarter's products are available through over 3,000 online and in-store retailers globally, including major partners like Best Buy, Amazon, Harrods, Lakeland, and Dixons Currys.

The company also maintains industry partnerships, such as with European manufacturer Liebherr.

This capital infusion marks a significant step for Smarter as it continues to expand its presence in the smart home market.

The $100,000 investment will be strategically deployed to support ongoing growth initiatives, including further product development and market expansion.

A portion of the funds is also expected to facilitate the recruitment of specialized talent, with current openings for iOS, Android, and firmware developers, as well as electronics engineers, to bolster its technical capabilities.

With this new funding, Smarter is positioned to accelerate its efforts in developing innovative smart home solutions.

The company aims to enhance its existing product lines and explore new opportunities to make connected living more accessible and efficient for consumers worldwide, reinforcing its commitment to minimizing food waste and simplifying household management through technology.
